Samsung, on 8 December 2025, officially introduced the One UI 8.5 beta program.
One UI is Samsung’s custom Android skin. The latest update, 8.5, is being examined before a full steady launch. The “beta programme” lets some users with eligible devices in supported areas install a pre-release version. This way, they can try new options early and supply feedback.
Samsung calls One UI 8.5 a boost for “output, privacy, and performance” in the Galaxy ecosystem.
Which devices and regions are eligible (so far)?
Initially, the test edition is limited to the premier Galaxy S25 series—that is, the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra.
Devices like the S25 FE and S25 Edge are not included — at least for now.
The launch is starting in a few markets: Germany, the United States, South Korea, India, Poland, and the UK.
Samsung may expand the beta to other devices or regions later.

Important caveats:
